Glam Up Powder Cream Review, Swatches and Price in India
Whenever that girl on TV appears and tells you how rosy Glam Up makes her, I feel like hitting her on head with my 5inch shoe. I don’t generally review bad products because they don’t deserve the attention here but everytime I see the advertisement my insides boil. And that “makeup? shaadi mei jana hai kya?” is like the icing on cake. I wanted to shout on top of my voice..or just review the Glam Up Powder Cream on blog here and save you some money. Its just a cheap dupe of Fair and Lovely.
Glam Up Claims: Glam-Up glides on your face like your most beloved cream, yet, provides the finish of an elegant face powder. It’s both, a cream and a powder, yet neither, because of its own unique formula in a Powder Cream. Glam Up’s light weight formula gives you a balance and even skintone; smooth texture with moisture; protection from sun damage and the result; you look fresh and radiant.
The cream has a rosy pink shade but goes on white and ashy on my medium skin. When I tried it on a friend with lighter skin tone, it although didn’t look that harsh against her skin but still looked white..like when you apply a lot of compact .
Coverage: No. Nada. There is just no tint. No even skin tone.
Texture: Thin but as soon as you rub on skin, it gets powdery and gets difficult to apply.
Blending: Although the texture is thin but once you start blending it gets dry and powdery (I guess that’s what they mean by the “powder cream” finish) and starts forming patches and sticks to the dry areas on cheeks, chin, around the mouth, even eyes (yes!).
Lasting Power: No idea because I washed it off. Could neither bear the cheap bleach like smell or the drying texture.
Sun Protection: What?! (Because they claim it)
Smell: A strong smell of artificial roses. Like some cheap bleach.
Packaging: Tells you whatever you see on-screen may not be true. In the TV ads you can’t help but feel “aww so cute” when you look at the all red and bright tube. It stops there only. When you see it in real, you get an orange red tube with some cheap golden detailing (which you can even scratch off!). The overall look and feel is “halka” and cheap. Ponds BB cream comes at just 69 bucks and its packaging is far far better. This is just cheap and trashy.
