Colorbar I-Glide Eye Pencils Coal Mine, Flirty Turq and Prunella Reviews, Swatches and EOTD
By Contributor: Tejinder Kaur
Today I am sharing my review and swatches on three Colorbar eye pencils which I bought recently after reading a number of reviews on Indian beauty blogs. Three shades which I chose were Prunella, Flirty Turq and Coal Mine. I am quite happy with all three and I am using these eye liners regularly for work and college as I love using different colours of pencils on my eyes.
Colorbar Claims:
Extremely soft and outstanding smooth formula, almost like a liquid liner
Coal Mine: A Black colour with silver shimmer but it looks dark gray. I love this shade a lot; would suit all skin tones and goes with all outfits. I love shimmer in my eye makeup a lot but when removing it leaves shimmer behind which I don’t like. But otherwise it is one of the prettiest grey black shades.
Prunella: A beautiful plum shade of eye pencil. Quite unique shade which looks good on fair skin tones. And it suits brown eyes beautifully.
Flirty Turq: I love this shade and its one of my favourites. I use it regularly with brown shade of lipstick. It is a very pretty turquoise blue shade of eye pencil. I sometimes wear it on the lower lash and it looks really eye catching and gorgeous.
Packaging: I love the packaging. These pencils come in a silver box. The shades name are written on one end and you can easily identify the colour if you have a few as the shades are printed on one side of the box which matches the colour inside. Colour information, quantity & shelf years are mentioned on the pencils. The base of the pencils is silver and the brand name is embossed on the pencil body. The pencil caps are tight enough so they are travel friendly too.
You can use these eye kohl pencils to create various looks. You can go as a thick and thin depending on your preference. It can be smudged as well for smokey looks. As these eye pencils are waterproof so you need a good eye makeup remover or olive/baby oil to remove them from the lids.
Smudge proof and water proof; it glides smoothly on the lids like butter without tugging or pulling and really meant for oily lids too. The nib of the eye pencil is very soft; it can break easily while applying as well.
One disadvantage is you have to sharpen this pencil and it breaks off easily while sharpening because of creamy texture leading to wastage. I found this pencil quite expensive but totally worth the price in terms of pigmentation and staying power.
These pencils are one of the best I have used. Very creamy in texture and very much pigmented, a single swipe builds up the colour. If you want to make it more intense you can swipe as thick as you like. I have used Avon Glimmersticks as well but I like these a lot. The staying power is great as it stays on my lids for almost 6 -7 hours without smudging. No need to retouch once applied in the morning. It stays on the waterline for hours without irritating your eyes; really impressed with that.
My eye makeup using all the 3 shades:
I’m wearing Prunella and Flirty Turq on upper line and Coal Mine on lower lash line.
