Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish Kiss Me Pink Review and Swatches
Look what I’ve today! The much hyped Color Show Nail Polishes by Maybelline. After the Colorama and Express Finish nail paints, Maybelline has finally launched the new Color Show nail polishes in India. The reason bloggers and non-bloggers alike are so excited by this latest launch is that its available in 75 shades – from mattes to shimmery, pastels to neons, crackle to glittery..maybelline has covered everything..EVERYTHING! And that too at a throw away price! Seriously when I say Maybelline is my favourite beauty brand I really mean it! I’ve got a couple of nail enamels from this range and I’m already think of getting 4-5 more. I’m really eyeing the Polka Dot Collection in it- puhleeez Maybelline launch it soon in India!
Kiss Me pink is a berry pink colour, quite similar to Faces Love in Burma..both of them have this berry touch but still I won’t call them dupes. Personally I prefer brighter colours but girls who love glossy berry, magenta and pink shades would really dig this. The colour is quite pigmented and goes opaque in 2 coats.
The finish is glossy and it has got these very tiny shimmer particles if you look closely. The shimmer isn’t much visible but does impart a glossy shine to the overall look.
In terms of wear, it lasts 4-5 days with very minor chipping around the edges (that is if you are quite scratchy..umm..you know I get a lot of mosquito bites and tend to scratch a lot!). And I don’t wear a top coat with it. So if you add a touch of top coat then you can easily wear it for 8-9 days. This is really great compared to the Lakme Gel Stylist Nail Polishes which were a huge disappointment in the wear department. And they come at around 5 times the price of these. So no issues here.
The brush that comes with the Color Show nail paints is good and applies evenly and smoothly. Its non-streaky and applies well. The drying time is around a minute and after that no textures can take form on your nails..love that.
What I like about Color Show by Maybelline:
- The berry-ruby pink shade. These shade suit fair to medium Indian skin tones a lot.
- The slight glossy sheen the nail paint has
- The awesome wear time. It lasts 4-5 days without a top coat and even after that with minor chipping
- It dries within a minute
- The brush that comes with is great quality and just the right length and width
- It applies smoothly without looking uneven or streaky
- It goes opaque in 2 coats
- Wide variety of shades and finishes available
- And ofcourse the price tag
What I don’t like about Kiss Me Pink:
- Not my kind of shade. My choice leans towards orange, teal, green, coral, blue..I’m not a pink girl!

These nail paints score in terms of finish, wearability, lasting power and variety. It last 4-5 days without any chipping and dries quicckly within a minute. The texture is smooth and non-streaky and the brush that comes with it great quality. The shade collection is totally mind blowing with different shades and finishes and I’m sure every girl out there can find one for herself.
