Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist Burgundy Burn

By Contributor: Ramitha Palyam

I am this crazy person who sits with all the lipsticks I own and start writing. Like the 40 thieves in alibaba went to such an extent to hide their treasure I make sure that the ones I actually love a lot are in some box completely out of reach of others!! hhahaah I know I have a crazy mind..hehehe!! Ok coming to the review and swatches, I have always been more of a lipstick person than lip gloss and my recent purchases in lip gloss department have just been the chambor glitzy gloss intense which i looooveee. But I am a lakme freak so had to buy the gloss stylist in burgundy burn and I am glad I did!

Burgundy Burn is a nice summery berry pink shade with good pigmentation, a must have lip gloss for people with pigmented lips. The color has got no burgundy tones to it so please don’t be put off thinking it will be a signature maroon shade by lakme. Burgundy burn is a bright berry pink color but not neon bright neither subtle bright, somewhere in between. I like how pigmented it is as well as hydrating. It does have shimmer which I was able to capture in one of the swatches but it isn’t gritty or noticeable. The shimmer is very subtle, it actually adds to the color making it a nice pouty color. When I wore it I got a lot of compliments. It is non sticky, stays on my lips for at least 4-5 hours depending on the kind of meal you have, good formulation but it does transfer to cups or spoons.. u get the idea, but its a gloss so I don’t really consider it as a minus point. As the co. says it does give a glossy finish to the lips.

This shade will flatter any skin tone especially dusky Indian skin tones. I think it’ll look fab on them. Other shades in this range are on a brighter side. I did pick up another shade called Coral Sunset and for the first time they nailed the name of the color!

Coming to the packaging, it is sleek and it just gives a nice elegant feeling to it. It resembles a lot like the chambor glitzy gloss one, the only diffenrence is the shade of the cap which is metallic grey and the one of chambor is dark blue. It has a flat sponge applicator which I love while some loathe. So that depends on personal choice. I like it because i need not dip the applicator again and again in the tube. Its just easier to apply and i like it. I can’t say its fragrance free as it faintly has a scent which I cant describe. Not a bad scent though and it doesn’t show up at all while applying.

Lastly, it is a really nice lipgloss and people who like gloss should definitely buy it and people who don’t like gloss still should give it a try.

Love Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist – why?

  • Awesome berry pink shade.
  • Great pigmentation.
  • Non sticky
  • Good staying power.
  • Sleek packaging.
  • Hydrating.
  • Shimmer adds to the color.

Hate Lakme Absolute Lipgloss – why?

  • Should introduce more shades.
  • Price (when compared to 655 INR for 6.5 ml for chambor glitzy gloss) is high.

Price: Rs.700

VNA Rating: 4.9/5 (-0.1 for price)

Other shades: Coral Sunset, Rust Crush, Pink Pout, Neon pink, Berry Cherry

Will I buy again? I will for sure buy other new shades if they introduce but as you don’t need a lot of it I doubt I will finish it soon.

Why should you buy? Lakme Absolute Gloss Stylist in Burgundy Burn is a pigmented lip gloss which is awesome for girls who have pigmented lips and for those who don’t. The color is too good and for the first time I liked shimmer in my lipgloss. So people you need to try this. You’ll love it!
