I just can’t live without lipsticks. Right now I have more than 50 lipsticks and still there is this urge to get a new one every time I see one. Whenever I pass through a Mac counter, seeing all those back bullets, a cold breeze passes through my hair. I am in a Mac lipstick phase so it has been just a week that I bought Daddy’s Little Girl and I fell in love with another Mac lipstick called Chatterbox from the amplified creme range of Mac. Today’s review and swatches are about this lipstick.
Mac Chatterbox is basically a lovely neutral pink which I think is just ideal for summer. The color looks more neon pink in bullet rather than on my lips. It slightly washes me out so I always apply it with a dark pink lip liner. See I always find a way to make a mac lipstick work! This shade will suit mostly fair to medium skin tones. It sells like a hot cake. Every time I go to the Mac store in Kolkata, it’s out of stock. Thanks to a friend who was planning to sell it and without a second thought I just grabbed it.
It comes in standard black silver packaging. The lipstick is creamy and bleeds a little so the lip liner trick helps here too. The fragrance of the lipstick is usual the vanilla scent which fades away after few minutes of application. The lipstick is light weight and creamy in texture but one has to exfoliate her lips properly before applying the lipstick as it accentuates the fine lines on the lips. Although it doesn’t smudge but easily transfers to cups and glasses and stays hardly for 2-3 hours on my lips.
In short I am a matte lover so an amplified creme lipstick is not my cup of tea but the color forced me to buy it. And although this shade is ideal for summer but I prefer to wear it in winters as it keeps moistens my lips. This shade goes really well with my Smokey eyes makeup looks.
Let’s check out some photos and swatches:
It came out a little brighter in the photos but the actual colour is a bit toned down
This is how it actually looks on me
Now the Good points:
The colour is not bright or neon…..just light everyday pink.
It is creamy in texture so non drying on lips.
The vanilla smell is addictive.
Glides easily on your lips.
Moistens your lips for hours.
The Bad points:
Being creamy it stays on for 2-3 hours.
Bleeds a little.
Have to apply on exfoliated lips otherwise it will accentuate fine lines.
Price: Rs.990
VNA Rating: 3.75/5
Final word: Mac Chatterbox lipstick is a neutral pink that would work really well on fair to medium skin tones. It may wash out darker skin. Its creamy, moisturising, light weight but stays on for only 2-3 hours and have a tendency to bleed. I like their matte finish better.
Editor: Mac Chatterbox is as such not a unique colour and quite dupe-able. The other day my cousin found two very close dupes of it. Revlon Colorburst Lip butter in Sweet Tart and L’oreal Color Riche Lipstick Pink Fever.
