Can a lip balm make you smile? That’s what the back-of-pack of eos lip balm asks. Well, if its shaped like a super-cute-and-delectable-red-colored egg, of course it can!

Can a lip balm make you smile? That’s what the back-of-pack of eos lip balm asks. Well, if its shaped like a super-cute-and-delectable-red-colored egg, of course it can!
For the record, I am addicted to lip balms. Being so obsessive-compulsive about having one in easy reach, I keep one by the bed, one on the table, one next to the TV, a couple on the dressing table, one in every bag…well, you get the picture? And obviously, the lip-balm-junkie-in-me could not pass this one up. Like 99.99% other people, I fell for the adorable packaging.
eos (short for Evolution of Smooth) lip balms are 95% organic, 100% natural, and gluten, paraben, phthalate and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, they have quite a fan following.
I picked the one in red, called Summer Fruit out of the following available:
For the Summer Fruit, this is what eos had to say, Smooth on an all-natural lip balm that delivers the perfect balance of flavor and moisture. Treat your lips to an all-natural lip balm that’s bursting with moisture and the refreshing flavors of strawberry, blueberry and peach .
The lip balm is easy to carry along in the bag as the twist-off cap fastens securely and will not come off accidentally! Also, the shape and bright colors make it easy to spot in a bag full of stuff (atleast mine is like that J)
Once done admiring the cute packaging, it’s a clear lip balm that smoothly glides on the lips, the experience of the rounded shape making it a novelty and fun to do thing! (I also foresee this being a bit of an issue in public places for some of us!). The lip balm is not very hydrating and requires a couple of swipes before my lips begin to feel good (PS: I am in a AC environment almost 24 hours a day so theyare dry 24/7 irrespective of the season ). That said, it has quite a bit of product inside so I don’t see myself hitting the pan anytime soon despite the multiple swipes. Also, once applied thoroughly, it is quite long lasting and stays for a good 4-5 hours.
Now, for the biggest issue, the fragrance is meant to be of summer fruits (described as strawberry, blueberry and peach) but sadly for me, is most reminiscent of a papaya! And I, for one, don’t want papaya on my lips 24 hours a day! The fragrance is quite synthetic and has a plastic note, which is not pleasant to say the least.

Price: $3.29 (approx Rs.185)
Will I re-purchase? Yes, but in a different flavor. May be the refreshing Sweet Mint? Which one do you like?
