Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Naked Pink Review, Photos, Swatches

I have been on a lipstick spree from quite some time. And this is turning into some sort of addiction. Even though I’m more of a lip colour girl, I still can’t figure out how would I finish off all the amazing lip colours I’ve got. Spoilt for choice! Let’s talk about a Colorbar lipstick today which by the way are one of the best Indian lippies around.

It Says: For a rich lip colour with a creamy shine, the Velvett Matte Lipstick, available in 45 stunning shades infuse the lips with vibrancy. Its unique 2-in-1 formulation gives the lips a creamy, yet matte finish. A one of a kind product in India, it has super softening agents that give the lips a soft and supple appearance while keep them nourished with Vitamin E. Staying on up to 5 hours on application, the Velvett Matte Lipstick can be further accentuated with lip gloss and lip liner.

Price- Rs.225 ($4.5)

The Colour: A deeep earthy brown pink with warm undertones. It looks quite dark in the tube than what it actually is. The name is quite misleading since there is nothing naked about it! By its name, I expected it to be a soft sheer pink but it is exactly the opposite. Even though the colour is a bit darker and warmer than what normal pinks are, it serves as ‘my lips but darker‘ on me since I’ve pigmented reddish pink lips naturally.  It would look flattering on those with medium to dusky complexions.

Even though it is matte, it glides on smoothly and does not dry my lips. And it has a good lasting power. Even with your meals, it can last a good 4-5 hours, which is absolutely great. And it leaves behind a tint too. They are available in 45 shades(yes!) and all of them have this silver glass packaging with the colour at the bottom to differentiate the lipsticks.

Okay it smells like caramel or may be coconut. Or is it vanilla? I don’t know but it IS strong. Why? Because I generally can’t detect any smell in my cosmetics but I can feel the vanilla like smell when it is on my lips. And I don’t really dig it either.

Here I was trying some pout for the first time!
The colour is a bit darker than what shows on the lips.

These are some great quality lipsticks and at this price, you better not miss them. There are a total of 45 shades but they are mostly either pinks or mauves. There are some browns too. I wish they had more of corals and nudes. From what I’ve heard, their ‘Hot Hot Hot’ is one of the best red lipsticks around. For pinks, ‘Irish Rose’ is a nice option too.

I’ve a few more shades from this range, so look out for them

So is it for you? Yes if you are looking for a matte which does not dry your lips, feels smooth and glides on easily. These are some great quality lipsticks India has and I’m now feeling patriotic!

Availability: You can find it in all the Colorbar outlets and online shopping websites. For those out of India, Colorbar’s official website ships internationally.
