By Contributor: Uzma

Whether you wear it once in your lifetime or sporty enough to use it multiple times, lehenga is a bride’s forte. I have chosen some of the best bridal creations from one of the most eminent fashion designers. All these Lehangas were displayed in 2014-2015 collections, so that you can get up-to-date couture for you big day.

1. Satya Paul Lehenga:

A beige gold lehenga with embroidery in purple, orange and gold. It’s embellished with zardozi, dabka and sequence work. Gold blouse and embellished dupatta completes the look.

2. Ashima Leena:

Designer duo showcased this design for WIFW 2014 autumn winter collection. I love coral lehenga with pockets paired with crop top. It spells old age patterns with glamorous accents.

3. Anita Dongre:

A perfect royal lehenga: grand, heavy and shades of bright gold and deep red. There’s meticulous detail of Gota patti work and zardozi on both lehenga and top.

4. Arpita Mehta:

Designer Arpita Mehta’s collection at LFW was named Starlight and was inspired by vintage cocktail dresses. Ileana D’cruz was showstopper. She appeared in a high-waisted pink lehenga with foil and mirror work. Colour of the lehenga is most stunning.

5. Ridhi Mehra:

Ridhi Mehra’s collection was inspired by mystical luminescence of the night sky. Showstopper Lisa Haydon wore a white and midnight blue gown perfect for Cocktail or reception. Gown has asymmetrical sleeves and floral designs.

6. Rina Dhaka:

A splendid saree by Rina Dhaka at Indian couture week 2014. Gorgeous Malaika Arora Khan added charm. It’s a beautiful nude saree with silver gota patti work with sheers and lace. Again perfect for sangeet or reception.

7. Anju Modi:

I’m drooling over this glittering lehenga. Specially that long sleeved fully embroidered choli and net dupatta. Carriage motif on the lehenga is so eccentric. White net dupatta is highlighted through red velvet and gold border.

8. Rohit Bal:

It was showcased as Preview of his collection in ICW 2014. Main focus was on the colour Ivory. Lehenga on far right is lovely. Brides who want a subtle colour or who have a day wedding would love this one. Collared long jacket with flared lehanga. It’s not bright but not dull either, just perfect.

9. Varun Bahl:

Mustard and blue make an enchanting combination. I’m eyeing Lehanga from above picture (second from right). You can call it a perfect modern look as colours are totally offbeat.

10. Payal Singhal:

She displayed her collection named ‘Firdaus’ in WIFW 2014. This is a contemporary take on traditional lehanga with a distinct use of colour black. This is for brides who dare be to b unconventional. Crop-top like choli with collar and front buttons. Black silk lehenga has delicate geometrical detailing and hemline has elaborate golden work.

11. Suneet Verma:

No wardrobe is complete without a pink ensemble. So this is a pink attire which gives a full sense of Indian luxury. Lehanga is teamed up with pink blouse full embellished blouse and net dupatta with border embroidery.

12. Meera and Muzaffar Ali:

This Lehenga from the collection of Meera and Muzaffar Ali is worth mentioning. A peach ombre lehanga makes a splendid sight. Top is given twist by angrakha style. This collection was inspired by Awadh culture. That royal jwellery, Lakshmi Rana looks alluring.
