1 Outfit: 2 Day and Night Makeup Looks

red green suit

I’m quite simple when it comes to outfits. Recently I had two weddings in my family, one on my father’s side and the other on my mother’s side. I love it when this kind of situations arise because you can get away with the same outfit without anybody noticing! So I attented two functions on both the sides wearing the same green red suit and dupatta.

Occasion 1: Cousin’s Engagement (day function, out of town)

When: 26th Jan 2013 (my family has this weird habit of hosting parties and functions on national holidays)

What I Wore: Simple green red suit with silk green chunni (dupatta) (from Dhara, a handloom store in Kamla Nagar), Multi-coloured Kundan earrings (local boutique), suede black pumps (UK)

It was a small town in Haryana (Muzzafar nagar). So it was small family affair. The engagement was at 1pm and there was no electricity! And the house we were getting ready in was bursting with the punjabi women trying to get some mirror space (there were only 2-3

rooms which were already dark). So mom and I headed to the balcony and I started doing her makeup first. And did the eyes of a couple of other aunties. By the time I  started getting ready, it was already late and everyone ended up saying “Anshita sabse zyada time lagati hai!! ” Grrrrr…..I took just 20mins!

I got ready using the Sleek Acid Palette in-built mirror (yes!). And because I forgot to carry my makeup brushes, I had to use my hands for the blending….and.. let’s just say the results were not nice. Actualy you can’t see the mess on my eyes! Plus because of no electricity and lack of time I ended up just brushing my hair and leaving them loose as I normally do. So needless to say, I didn’t like my look.

Occasion 2: A distant cousin’s cocktail party (who I’ve never met and still won’t recognize if she is to come and stand in front of me)

When: 10th Feb 2013 (I remember because Sailor and I had a big row that day…..LDRs!)

What I wore: the same red suit, sleek swarovski encrusted drop earrings (not visible in the pics), Nude Pumps I got online

For my hair, I made a pouf. I think it suits me the best. This time I got ready in my own room with full access to brushes and makeup products. So it came out better. Although the eye makeup isn’t looking good in the pics, but I was then testing the Lakme Eyeshadows so I used them dry instead of wet (how I normally use them now). Oh btw these pics are from my phone….you can’t start clicking your own pics with the cam as soon as you leave the home!).

The second look was for the evening. I like that look better. You can’t get ready anywhere the way you can at the comfort of your home. Plus I got away with the same outfit!

What do you people think? Which look do you like more?
